San Lorenzo di Gino
A.B.V. 14%
Blends the firm seriousness of sangiovese with the plush drinkability of montepulciano. Ripe cherry, plum and pomegranate notes mingled with hints of clay, black tea and herbs. Well-structured with plenty of plump but not heavy fruit and an elegant, lifted finish.
From the Gino vineyard that is farmed biodynamically. Soil is primarily sand. 60% montepulciano, 40% sangiovese. Fermentation with natural yeasts in concrete, followed by 30 days maceration. 12 months on lees in concrete, though 10% of the wine sees old oak to soften the austerity of young sangiovese. 3 months’ bottle age before release
